5 Things to Do This Summer in Middle TN (If You Just Moved Here… or Are Thinking About It)

Alright, I’m leaving CMA Fest off this list—not because it’s not awesome (it is), but because it’s basically its own thing at this point. If you love country music, just go. You won’t regret it.

Now let’s talk about everything else.

Middle Tennessee is busy year-round, but summer hits different. There’s always something happening—from low-key music festivals to fireworks shows that draw a national crowd. Whether you’ve just moved here or you’re still scoping it out, here are 5 things you should absolutely check out this summer.

1. Brew at the Zoo – June 13

If you’re looking for a summer night that’s equal parts fun, social, and a little wild (literally), this is it. Brew at the Zoo is one of Nashville’s most popular adults-only events—think 60+ craft beer vendors, live music, and yes, animals.

It’s a great way to explore the Nashville Zoo without stepping on juice boxes or dodging strollers.

2. Musicians Corner (Through Mid-June)

Wouldn’t it be cool if you could just stumble into a chill music festival in the middle of the city one weekend? Spoiler: You can.

Musicians Corner is one of Nashville’s best-kept secrets. It’s free, super laid back, and happens nearly every weekend through mid-June at Centennial Park. Bring a blanket, grab food from a local vendor, and just enjoy being outside listening to some insanely talented local acts.

3. 4th of July in Nashville

Let freedom ring… and sing—because it’s Music City, after all.

Nashville goes all out for the Fourth, with one of the biggest fireworks displays in the country paired with a live concert by the Nashville Symphony. It’s amazing—but here’s the truth: it’s also crowded.

Local Tips:

  • Take the Music City Star train from Donelson into downtown to avoid the parking circus.
  • If you know someone who lives at the Viridian or 505, text them now. Their rooftop views? Next level.

4. Catch a Nashville Sounds Game

Minor league baseball? Sure. But Nashville does it differently.

A Sounds game at First Horizon Park is less about the game itself and more about the experience. It’s a fun night out—Germantown bars nearby for pregame, skyline views from your seat, and plenty of people-watching. It’s family-friendly and date-night worthy, depending on your crew.

5. FIFA Club World Cup 2025 (June 20–26)

This one’s huge. GEODIS Park will host matches from the first-ever FIFA Club World Cup, and yes—it’s happening this summer in Nashville.

You don’t have to be a die-hard soccer fan to enjoy the energy this tournament brings. It’s a big deal globally, and Nashville is one of the few U.S. cities selected to host. Expect the city to be buzzing (and tickets to go fast).
