Best Parks in Mt. Juliet, TN: A Local’s Guide to Getting Outside

One of the things I enjoy about living in Mt. Juliet is having so many opportunities to get outside without driving all the way into Nashville.

Whether you’re looking for a playground, somewhere to walk the dog, a place to ride bikes, or just a quiet spot to spend an afternoon, Mt. Juliet has several parks worth knowing about.

And if you’re considering moving to Mt. Juliet, these are the kinds of places that can give you a better feel for everyday life here.

I’ve put together a guide to some of the parks around town, what they offer, and why you might want to check them out.

Charlie Daniels Park: A Little Bit of Everything

Charlie-Daniels-Park-Mt-Juliet-Tennessee

If you’re new to Mt. Juliet, Charlie Daniels Park is probably the first park I’d recommend checking out.

Located at 1075 Charlie Daniels Parkway, this is one of the city’s main gathering spots and offers something for just about everyone.

There’s Planet Playground, Ava’s Splash Pad, a skate park, basketball and volleyball courts, tennis and pickleball courts, and a walking track that connects to the Cedar Creek Greenway.

There’s also Squirrel’s Run Toddler Park, which includes a tricycle track, and several pavilions that can be reserved for gatherings.

The Mt. Juliet Community Center is located here as well, offering indoor recreation space and community programming.

Throughout the year, Charlie Daniels Park also hosts local events, including outdoor movies and other community activities.

Why I’d recommend it: If you’re looking for one place with plenty of activities to choose from, Charlie Daniels Park is an easy place to start.

Robinson Family Park: Walking Trails and a Quieter Setting

Sometimes you just want to get outside, take a walk, and enjoy a little peace and quiet.

That’s where Robinson Family Park comes in.

This park is a Certified Wildlife Habitat and features a walking trail along with outdoor fitness equipment.

It’s a nice alternative to some of the busier recreation areas around town, especially if you’re looking for somewhere to walk or enjoy nature.

And for anyone interested in birdwatching or simply spending time outdoors, the natural setting is part of the appeal.

Why I’d recommend it: A good option when you’re looking for a walking trail and a more relaxed outdoor experience.

Jones Family Park: A Spot for Dogs and Outdoor Activities

If you have a dog, Jones Family Park is one you’ll want to know about.

The park includes a designated bark park, giving dogs an opportunity to get some exercise in an area designed for them.

But there’s more here than just the dog park.

You’ll also find sand volleyball and a disc golf driving range.

It’s a nice combination of activities, especially if you’re looking for something a little different from the traditional playground and walking trail.

Why I’d recommend it: Worth checking out if you’re a dog owner or enjoy disc golf and volleyball.

South Mt. Juliet Bark Park: Another Option for Dog Owners

For residents on the south side of Mt. Juliet, the South Mt. Juliet Bark Park is another convenient outdoor destination.

Along with the dog park, this location includes a playground, pavilion, and sand volleyball.

That combination makes it useful when you’re looking for more than just a place to exercise your dog.

It’s also another example of why I encourage people relocating to Mt. Juliet to explore different parts of town before deciding where to buy.

Depending on the neighborhood you choose, your closest parks, shopping, and everyday conveniences can be quite different.

Why I’d recommend it: A convenient option for dog owners in South Mt. Juliet, with additional recreational amenities.

North vs. South Mt. Juliet — Which Area Is Right for You?

Mundy Memorial Park: Playgrounds, Sports, and Recreation

Located at 300 Mundy Memorial Drive, Mundy Memorial Park is another recreational destination in Mt. Juliet.

The park offers a playground, walking track, multipurpose field, tennis courts, pickleball courts, outdoor fitness equipment, and a pavilion.

There are also restrooms and accessible facilities.

With a mix of sports and recreation areas, it’s worth exploring if you’re looking for a place to get some exercise or spend time outdoors.

Why I’d recommend it: A good choice for anyone interested in playgrounds, walking, or recreational sports.

Mundy Sports Complex: Youth Sports and Disc Golf

Youth sports are a big part of life for many people in Mt. Juliet, and Mundy Sports Complex is one of the places where you’ll find that activity.

The complex includes a softball field, walking trail, and disc golf.

It’s also home to the Mt. Juliet Youth Football and Cheerleading Association.

Even if you’re not attending a game, the walking trail and disc golf amenities provide other reasons to visit.

Why I’d recommend it: A destination for organized sports, with additional outdoor recreation opportunities.

Eagle Park: A Unique Place for Young Bike Riders

Eagle Park is a little different from the other parks on this list.

Rather than focusing on sports fields or playgrounds, Eagle Park was designed as a bicycle park to help young riders develop safety awareness.

The park actually began as an Eagle Scout project, which makes its history especially interesting.

If you’re helping a young cyclist learn basic riding skills and become more comfortable on a bike, this is a place worth checking out.

Why I’d recommend it: A unique recreational space focused on bicycle education and safety.

Ethan Page Park and Other Mt. Juliet Green Spaces

Ethan Page Park is another location included in the city’s parks system.

While it may not be as widely recognized as Charlie Daniels Park, it’s worth keeping on your list as you explore the community.

Mt. Juliet also has a growing network of sidewalks, trails, and greenways that help connect different parts of town.

For anyone who enjoys walking, running, or cycling, these connections are worth researching when comparing neighborhoods.

You can find additional information and maps through the City of Mt. Juliet Parks and Recreation Department.

Why Parks Matter When Choosing Where to Live in Mt. Juliet

When people start looking for a home, they naturally focus on the house itself.

How many bedrooms does it have? Is the kitchen updated? Does it have a fenced backyard?

But one thing I always encourage relocation buyers to consider is what they’ll actually enjoy doing once they’re living in the home.

Do you want to be near walking trails? Would you enjoy having a neighborhood connected to a greenway? Do you prefer being close to parks, shopping, or the lake?

These might seem like small details when you’re looking at houses online, but they can make a difference in your everyday routine.

And because Mt. Juliet covers a fairly large area, different neighborhoods offer different levels of access to parks and recreation.

That’s why understanding the location is just as important as understanding the home.
